Is Microsoft's effort to replace paper with the Surface line a failure?

Microsoft's Surface PC and Accessories line are some of the best Windows products on the market, and they are much appreciated here at Windows Central. Careful design, beautiful displays and lots of power all contribute to establishing a standard that other manufacturers will follow. One thing that all Surface devices have for them is the Surface Pen, which offers a clean and trouble-free ink experience.

However, not everyone is satisfied. The Windows Central forum member, Satish Singh, recently created a thread that states that Surface is a failed attempt by Microsoft to replace the actual paper.
